SURAT AL 'ASHR

Surat Al 'Ashr: 1-3

For the sake of time, the real man is really in a state of loss, except those who believe, do good deeds, advising one another in righteousness, and edify each other in patience (Al 'Ashr: 1-3)


SEMAR

Semar

Badranaya or Lurah Kyai Semar is the name of the main character in the puppet punakawan Javanese and Sundanese. This figure is reported as a nanny as well as adviser to the knights in staging the stories of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Of course the name of Semar is not found in the original manuscript is the Sanskrit epic, because this character is an original creation Javanese poet.

There are several versions about the birth of Semar. But all these figures refer to as the reincarnation of the God.

In the script narrated Serat Kanda, ruler of heaven named Sanghyang Nurrasa has two sons. Because Sanghyang Tunggal ugly, it also inherited the throne of heaven to Sanghyang Wenang. From Sanghyang Wenang then bequeathed to his son named Batara Guru. Sanghyang Tunggal became caretakers of the descendants of Batara Guru knights, with the name of Semar.

In the script Paramayoga narrated, Sanghyang Tunggal was the son of Sanghyang Wenang. Sanghyang Tunggal  married with Dewi Rakti, a daughter of king crab the genie named Sanghyang Yuyut. From the marriage was born a tangible mustika egg which later became the two men. Both were each given a name Ismaya for blacks, and Manikmaya for the white. Ismaya feel inferior, making Sanghyang Tunggal less pleased. Celestial throne was inherited by Manikmaya, which was then titled Batara Guru. Meanwhile Ismaya only given the position as ruler of nature Sunyaruri, or residential group spirits. Ismaya eldest son named Batara Wungkuham have a round-bodied boy named Janggan Smarasanta, or abbreviated Semar. He became a descendant of Batara Guru nanny named Resi Manumanasa and continue until the children and grandchildren. In special circumstances,  Ismaya can permeate Semar, Semar became a figure so dreaded, even by the gods though. So according to this version, Semar is the grandson of Ismaya.

In the script narrated Purwakanda, Sanghyang Tunggal had four sons named Batara Puguh, Batara Punggung, Batara Manan, and Batara Samba. One day news came that the throne of heaven will be passed on to Samba. This makes his three brothers jealous. Samba was kidnapped and tortured about to be killed. But such actions are known by their father. Sanghyang Tunggal have condemned his three sons became ugly. Puguh renamed Togog while Punggung renamed Semar. Both were relegated to the world as a governess Samba descent, which was then titled Batara Guru. Meanwhile Manan was pardoned because he just went along with it. Manan then titled Batara Narada and was appointed as an adviser for Batara Guru.

In the script narrated Purwacarita, Sanghyang Tunggal was married to Rekatawati daughter of Sanghyang Rekatatama. From the marriage was born a luminous egg. Sanghyang Tunggal slammed the egg so that it broke into three parts, namely the shell, white, and egg yolks. All three are each transformed into a male. Derived from the shells named Antaga, derived from egg whites named Ismaya, whereas that of yellow named Manikmaya. One day Antaga and Ismaya disagree because each wants to be the heir to the throne of heaven. Both also held a contest to swallow the mountain. Antaga trying to gobble up the mountain with one swallow, but it crashed. His mouth was torn and his eyes widened. Ismaya using other means, namely by eating the mountain bit by bit. Several days after passing all parts of the mountain had moved into the body Ismaya, but it did not work out. As a result since then Ismaya any round bodied. Sanghyang Tunggal so angry knowing the ambition  his two sons. They were sentenced to be caretakers Manikmaya descent, who later was appointed as king of heaven, titled Batara Guru. Tsunami

Tsunami (Japanese: 津 波; tsu = port, nami = wave, literally means "big waves in the harbor") is the displacement of water bodies caused by changes in sea surface vertically and suddenly. Changes in sea level could be caused by an earthquake centered under the sea, underwater volcanic eruptions, underwater landslides, or a meteor or lacing at sea. Tsunami waves can propagate in any direction. Power contained in the tsunami wave height is fixed to the function of altitude and speed. In the deep ocean, tsunami waves can propagate with the speed of 500-1000 km per hour. Equivalent to the speed of the aircraft. Wave height in the deep ocean is only about 1 meter. Thus, the rate of the waves are not felt by the ship was at sea. When approaching the coast, the tsunami wave velocity decreases to about 30 miles per hour, but its height has been increased to tens of meters. Tsunami waves hit could go up to tens of kilometers of shoreline. Damage and casualties due to tsunami can be caused due to hit the water and material carried by the flow of tsunami waves.

Traditional Markets

Pasar or a traditional markets are a meeting place for sellers and buyers and sellers transaction characterized by a buyer directly and there is usually a process of bargaining, the building usually consists of stalls or outlets, stalls and open heavy foundation which was opened by the seller as well as a market manager. Most selling daily necessities such as food ingredients in the form of fish, fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, fabrics, garments electronics goods, services and others. Markets like this are still found in Indonesia, and is generally located near a residential area in order to facilitate buyers to reach the market. Some traditional markets are "legendary" among others Beringharjo in Yogyakarta, Klewer market in Solo, Johar market in Semarang. BALI DANCER

Balinese dance in general can be categorized into three groups, namely Wali or the sacred art of dance performances, Bebali or dance performances for ceremonies and also for visitors and Balih-balihan or the art of dance for the entertainment of visitors.

Balinese dance expert I Made Bandem at the beginning of the 1980s never classify the Balinese dances, among others who belong to Wali for example Berutuk, Sang Hyang Dedari, Rejang and Baris Gede, Bebali among others is Gambuh, Pajegan Mask and Puppet Wong, whereas Balih-balihan among others is the Legong, Parwa, Arja, Prembon and Joged as well as various other modern dance choreography.

One of the dances are very popular for tourists is the Kecak Dance. Around the 1930's, Wayan Limbak worked with German painter Walter Spies to create Trance dance is based on tradition and part of the Ramayana story. Wayan Limbak popularized the dance this time around the world with his troupe of Balinese dancers

TARI LEGONG

Tari Legong 

Legong is a classical Balinese dance group that has a very complex vocabulary of movement that is bound to the structure of percussion accompaniment that is said to be the influence of gambuh. Legong word comes from the word "leg" which means to dance a flexible or pliable and "gong" which means the gamelan. "Legong" thus implies a bound dance movement (especially accentuation) by the accompanying gamelan. Gamelan who used to accompany legong dance called Gamelan Semar Pagulingan.

Legong developed in the palaces of Bali in the 19th century. It is said that the idea started from a prince of Sukawati is in a state of ill, dream to see two beautiful girls dancing gracefully accompanied by gamelan music. When the prince recovered from his illness, his dream was poured in a complete repertoire of dances with gamelan.

In accordance with a beginning, a standard legong dancers were two girls who have not had a period, danced in the moonlight in the courtyard palace. Both of these dancers, called legong, always equipped with a fan as a tool. In some there is a dancer dance legong addition, called condong, which is not equipped with a fan.
